WORKSHOP Yamas and Niyamas – Living your Life the Yogic Way

How can we be kinder to ourselves and invite harmony into our lives? How can we find greater contentment, trust, gratitude, humility, and joy?
Asana practice is only a part of a yogic way of living; it rests firmly on the foundation of yoga’s ethical system. Our yoga practice on the mat as much as off the mat, when enriched with understanding of these principles, is more rewarding and often transformational.
The yoga path, as Patanjali lays it out in the Yoga Sutras, is a path that takes the mind from a state of constant movement and disturbance to a state of rest and harmony. It all begins with the practice of the Yamas and Niyamas —the ethical and moral guidelines of yoga. Exploring these concepts in depth can lead to a more fulfilling life and a deeper understanding of what it means to practice yoga.
Join me in this series of two 2-hour workshops and learn or sharpen your understanding of how to implement the Yamas and Niyamas into your practice.
During the first workshop, we will explore each Yama, how they relate to each other and their relevance on our Yoga mats and in our lives. We will openly converse about different interpretations of these ancient principles and how they relate practically in our day-to-day lives.
The workshop will include
Lecture followed by a group discussion to gain an in-depth understanding of each Yama
Asana practice to embody the principles
Guided meditation with mudra and chant.
Yummy vegan snacks and drinks
Both workshops can be attended on their own or as a series of two.

Afternoon of Yoga, Meditation, Gong Bath and Aromatherapy
at Shoreditch Treehouse, London
Saturday, 14.04.18 12-2.30pm
Spend a lovely and relaxed afternoon of yoga, aromatherapy, sound bath and a nutritious vegetarian snacks in the unique setting of Shoreditch Treehouse, an urban, bohemian loft in the heart of one of London’s trendiest areas.
We’ll start with conscious breathing, before moving through an energetic and creative vinyasa flow (suitable for those new to yoga, plenty of options provided), to lift your body and mind.
After the physical practice we’ll take Savasana, the final relaxation, when you’ll find yourself enfolded by both the vibrating waves of sound from our gongs played by the wonderfully skilled Harriet Emily and the highest quality essential aromatherapy oils from Root&Flower to stimulate the senses and quieten the mind.
After the yoga practice, we’ll share healthy and nutritious vegetarian snacks and ayurvedic teas.
